Fall 2025 Schedule of Classes. The revised Fall 2025 class schedule is available here.
Final exam schedule. You can see the schedule for final exams here.
Add/Drop Period. The add/drop period will continue through the second week of classes (Friday, August 29, at 9pm). You can add classes up until that time. You may withdraw from any course except a required course, a clinical course, Law Review, Moot Court, or an intersession class at any time prior to the date of the final exam or final paper (see section 3.10(c) of the Student Handbook). There is no tuition penalty if you drop a course during the add/drop period. You will not receive a tuition refund after the add/drop period ends. See Handbook §§ 3.10 and 12.10 for more information.
Many of you are currently waitlisted for high-demand courses or have written with individual enrollment requests. Please note:
- Seat availability will likely shift during Add/Drop due to changes in student schedules
- We recommend waiting until Add/Drop stabilizes before submitting further individual enrollment requests
- Unfortunately, it is too late to add new sections of over-enrolled or rescheduled courses this semester
🗓️ Course Cancelations & Scheduling Changes.
I’ve heard from both students and instructors about what didn’t work with the fall schedule. In response, I’ve made changes based on that feedback. A number of classes have had changes to instructors, meeting times, and so on. In addition, we regret that several announced courses cannot be offered as planned. Four courses will be canceled (Corporation and the Constitution, Software Patents, and IP and Technology Licensing, and Social Impact Law), but we hope to offer Software Patents in the winter intersession if possible. Several other classes (Juvenile Law, Banking Law & Regulation, and Foundations for Bar Success) had their days changed.
If you were enrolled in a class that was canceled or rescheduled, you should already have been contacted. In addition, you’ll find a list of those updates on the last page of the schedule PDF when it is posted. That said, I strongly encourage all students to log into the registration system and confirm their current schedules and the current registration status of other courses.
Initial Reading Assignments. Available by clicking here. Note: Not all professors submit initial assignments, so do not be concerned if there is no listing for one or more of your courses. Information should also be available through the university's virtual bookstore.
Pass/Fail elections. The deadline for electing to take a class pass/fail is August 29 at 9pm CST. The deadline for revoking a pass/fail election is Nov 24 at 9pm CST. For more information, see § 2.4 of the student handbook.
Course Status Reports: For live enrollment figures and course availability, always check the current course status report.
Book orders: Access the university's virtual bookstore at this link.
Seminars. Seminars that meet the Chicago-Kent graduation requirement are listed under a separate section of the course schedule.
Student Handbook. The updated student handbook for 2025-26 is here. Please read it carefully, especially if you ask the office of academic affairs for something; we will look first at the handbook for the applicable rule and procedure.
Fall 2025 Graduation Alert. Planning to graduate this fall? Please fill out this form, which will take about 10 minutes. If you fill it out by Monday, August 25, we’ll get an audit completed before the end of the add/drop period. Please fill the form out promptly!
🔮 Planning for the Future — Survey on spring 2026 course interest. As we’re beginning curricular planning for Spring 2026 and beyond, we want your input on which classes to offer and when to schedule them. This is your chance to help shape the elective mix and timing! The survey should take ~10–12 minutes. Please complete it by September 19 if possible so we can timely take your preferences into account while putting together the draft schedule for Spring 2026. The link is available on The Record.
