Pre-Law Undergraduate Scholars (PLUS) Program
Chicago-Kent’s PLUS Program
2026 Update: Thank you for your interest in our Pre-Law Undergraduate Scholars (PLUS) Program. We appreciate your enthusiasm and commitment to exploring the legal profession. Unfortunately, we will not be offering the PLUS Program this year. We hope to resume the program in the future and encourage you to stay connected for updates.
Chicago-Kent’s Pre-Law Undergraduate Scholars (PLUS) Program, the longest-running PLUS program in the country, offered a unique and unforgettable experience for college students who were interested in the legal profession. This rigorous three-week summer program was designed to prepare students for law school or a career in the legal profession by giving them a taste of what law school is like. The program also familiarized students with the law school application process, and exposed them to a wide range of career paths within the legal profession. There was targeted outreach to students with limited access and exposure to law school and the legal profession.
The program was free to participants. This was a full-time commitment; participants must attend all classes and participate in all program activities. Therefore, students had to be available during the day and some evenings and have no outside commitments that would prevent them from giving the program their full attention and daily attendance. Students also had to agree to provide PLUS administrators with education and career updates after completion of the program.
The PLUS Program was for college students who would not have received their bachelor's degree by the start of the program. Because the PLUS Program was primarily designed to provide exposure to law school, the legal profession, and general professionalism and work skills that students may not have gained at this stage in their educational career, preference would be given to those students who would benefit the most from the PLUS experience.
Although we provided some general information, tips, and a practice LSAT exam, LSAT preparation did not constitute a significant portion of the schedule. Please review the past example agenda carefully as it provides a realistic overview of the program content and schedule.
The 2025 program took place from Sunday, June 1 to Friday, June 20, 2025.
