Howard S. Chapman

Professor of Law Emeritus

Howard S. Chapman received his bachelor’s and law degrees (with honors) from the University of Illinois, where he served on the Law Forum and was elected to the Order of the Coif. He joined the Illinois Tech Chicago-Kent College of Law faculty in 1971 and served as assistant dean in 1973 and associate dean from 1974 to 1979. He was later reappointed as associate dean in 1990, and served until 1998.

Prior to joining Chicago-Kent, Chapman, a CPA, was associated with Miller, Mandell & Company, Certified Public Accountants, was an assistant to Chicago attorney John J. Kennelly, and was associated with the Chicago law firm of Altheimer and Gray. He teaches in the tax, accounting and personal finance fields, and is the author of numerous articles on tax and investment subjects.
