IIT Chicago-Kent Order of the Coif chapter to induct 34 new members November 11
Spring 2011 graduates selected were among the top 10 percent of their class
The IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law chapter of the Order of the Coif will induct 34 new members November 11 during award ceremonies in the Walnut Room of the Hotel Allegro in Chicago. The Order of the Coif is a national legal honor society that recognizes superior scholarship and promotes the ethical standards of the legal profession.
IIT Chicago-Kent was unanimously elected to membership in the Order of the Coif in 1989. The law school faculty selects members from the top 10 percent of each graduating class. Professor Howard C. Eglit is president of IIT Chicago-Kent's Order of the Coif chapter.
The most recent honorees earned their Juris Doctor degrees from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law at the end of the spring 2011 semester. Pericles C. Abbasi, Gregg M. Barbakoff, Mark M. Berardi, Patrick M. Bickley, Margaux L. Birdsall, Michael S. Borella, Ashley E. Crettol, Jason J. Dirkx, Stephen M. Eckert, David A. Franklin, Stephen J. Gorski, Rebecca A. Graham, Gregory L. Grattan, Alisa M. Harrison, Daniel R. Hergott, Christopher M. Hoffmann and Katherine C. Jahnke will be inducted into the Order of the Coif. Also selected for membership are Gregory W. Jones, Andrew M. Jung, William M. Lopez, Mark L. Mazzone, Elizabeth A. Meyer, Aaron H. Midler, Timothy F. Peterson, Laura J. Raatjes, Daniel M. Scheimer, Grant S. Shackelford, Howard A. Smith, Keith L. Southam, Keith R. Syverson, Elizabeth E. Tempel, Jerry D. Thomas, Benjamin S. Thomassen and Jacqueline R. Zablocki.
IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law is the law school of Illinois Institute of Technology, a private, Ph.D.-granting institution with programs in engineering, psychology, architecture, business, design and law.
