IIT Chicago-Kent's Institute for Compliance to hold January 17 "Boot Camp"
IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law's Institute for Compliance will present a half-day "Compliance Boot Camp" for practitioners, in-house counsel and prospective compliance professionals. The program will be held from 1-4:45 p.m. on January 17 in the law school's Governor Richard B. Ogilvie Auditorium, 565 West Adams Street (between Clinton and Jefferson streets) in Chicago. A reception will immediately follow the program.
The program will provide information on standards and requirements organizations need to consider when developing and implementing their compliance programs. "The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act," "Building and Maintaining an Effective Compliance Program," and "Anti-Money Laundering: Who Should Be Concerned" are among the topics presented by panels of leading in-house counsel, regulators and outside counsel.
There is no cost to attend the event, but reservations are required. The program is eligible for 3.0 hours of IL MCLE credit and also has been approved for a maximum 4.5 hours of approved continuing education credits with the Compliance Certification Board. A reception will be held at the end of the event.
Presenters include: Robert Scales, general counsel and chief compliance officer, Columbia Acorn Trust; Theodore L. Banks, partner, Scharf Banks Marmor LLC, and president, Compliance & Competition Consultants; Zaldwaynaka Scott, partner and co-chair of White-Collar Litigation and Internal Investigations Practice at Kaye Scholer LLP; James Lord, senior director, Alvarez & Marsal Global Forensic & Dispute Services, LLC; Carrie J. DiSanto, global chief compliance officer at CME Group; John M. Geiringer, partner, Barack Ferrazzano Kirschbaum & Nagelberg LLP; George Morales, the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago's senior anti-money laundering risk specialist. Sessions will be moderated by Professor Felice Batlan, director of IIT Chicago-Kent's Institute for Compliance; Kathryn Woodward, senior counsel/compliance, Hillshire Brands; and Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago counsel Joseph E. Silvia.
