Three IIT Chicago-Kent alumni named Laureates of ISBA's Academy of Illinois Lawyers
Three IIT Chicago-Kent alumni are among seven Illinois attorneys named as 2011 Laureates of the Illinois State Bar Association's Academy of Illinois Lawyers. The 2011 Class of Laureates was inducted today during luncheon ceremonies at the Standard Club in Chicago.
The Academy of Illinois Lawyers was founded in 1999 "to enhance the honor and dignity of the state bar by recognizing attorneys who personify the greatness of the legal profession." The Laureates Award is the highest honor bestowed by the Academy. Recipients are selected by the Board of Regents from submitted nominations. Nominees are required to have demonstrated a commitment to "the highest principles of the legal profession and to serving the public." To date, only 102 Laureates have been selected.
IIT Chicago-Kent alumni selected for induction in the 2011 Class of Laureates are:
- Hon. Peter J. Birnbaum '83, president of Attorneys' Title Guaranty Fund Inc. (ATG) in Chicago
- William V. Johnson '66, president of Johnson & Bell Ltd. in Chicago
- John B. Kincaid '63, partner, Mirabella, Kincaid, Frederick & Mirabella LLC in Wheaton
