Bookstore Returns. If you rented books from the Bookstore this semester, you will receive an email from Barnes & Noble with a shipping label to use in returning your materials.

Revised Academic Policies.  The Student Handbook has been updated to reflect two revised policies recently approved by the faculty:  (1) Section 1.2 now describes the seminar requirement in more detail and includes a new policy that, if a professor chooses, students may submit multiple pieces of shorter scholarly writing rather than a single major seminar paper. (2) Section 6.8 has been revised to allow some deviations from the mandatory curve, for courses subject to it, if fewer than 35 students are enrolled in the class.

Counseling Services. This is a reminder that the university provides counseling services free of charge for students. Click here for details on the available resources, including individual counseling through Skylight Counseling Services. In addition to resources available through the university, the Lawyers Assistance Program also provides assistance to law students. LAP provides free and confidential assistance to members of the Illinois legal community, and can help you with issues of addiction, stress, anxiety, depression, focusing, worries about the character and fitness process, and having a successful first-year transition. Click here for more information about LAP and the services it provides.

Joke of the Week. Here's one for the philosophers out there:  Rene Descartes is drinking with friends in a bar.  At the last call, the bartender asks him if he'd like another drink. Descartes says, "I think not" -- and disappears.
