Journal of Intellectual Property Seeking Editors

Hello, Chicago-Kent community!

The Journal of Intellectual Property is currently accepting applications from 2Ls and 3Ls for this year’s Submissions Editor (SE), Executive Articles Editor (EAE), and Articles Editor (AE) positions! If you are interested in Intellectual Property and/or gaining Bluebook editing experience, this is an incredible opportunity for you to get hands-on experience and training.

The Journal is a student-run publication, which publishes two issues per year. These publications offer in-depth analyses of fundamental issues affecting intellectual property rights and timely, succinct analyses of current intellectual property issues. The Journal is the proud official publication of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board Bar Association.

As an SE, you would help evaluate and select the articles that the Journal is set to publish--the majority of this work will be at the beginning of each semester. EAEs are responsible for reviewing the articles to ensure their accuracy and quality, and managing a team of AEs in the article editing process throughout each semester. Finally, AEs work on editing and reviewing articles under the guidance of their assigned EAE to ensure compliance with Bluebook standards and proper grammar. These roles all open the door to further leadership roles down the road and also allow you to write articles, reports, or blog posts for the Journal for credit and have the potential for web or issue publication.

To apply, please email a resume and statement of interest to The Journal by Friday, August 13th, at 5:00pm.

If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out. Thank you all and stay well,
