Out of the Darkness Suicide Awareness Walk

Join Chicago-Kent's Black Law Students Association (BLSA) for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's Out of the Darkness Suicide Awareness Walk Saturday, October 2nd. This walk and message have always been important, but BLSA participates in the Out of Darkness Walk each year to promote suicide prevention in honor of the late Nick Johnson from the Class of 2021. This walk will celebrate his life and bring us all together to fight suicide.

You can sign up to join or donate to our team via the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention website. Please note that donations can only be made to individual team members, but the donations go towards our overall team goal. Online registration closes on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 12:00 p.m.

In addition to the in-person walk, there is a virtual option. If you want to participate virtually, there will be an app with an hour-long program so you can walk in your community. Feel free to share your walk on social media, then tag #TogetherToFightSuicide and #CKBLSA.

If you choose to participate in person, the walk will take place on Saturday, October 2nd from 9am-1pm. We will all meet at Montrose Harbor. Everyone must abide by the COVID-19 guidelines, so please bring a mask and social distance as much as you can.

If you have any questions, please email Lorianna Anderson at landerson3@kentlaw.iit.edu. Thank you!
