vLex International Law and Technology Writing Competition
the vLex International Writing Competition invites students from around the world to submit a 1000-word blog-style article on one of three topics. The overall winner will receive a grand prize of £1,500 and a 3-month internship at one of the world’s leading legal technology firms, alongside the publication of their entry to a global legal audience. Additionally, each runner-up will be awarded £250 each for Best in Category.
Deadline December 1, 2021.

Illinois Local Government Lawyers Association Annual Writing Competition
The Illinois Local Government Lawyers Association is sponsoring its annual writing competition. There are cash prizes available, as well as the possibility of being published in the monthly Journal (Journal of the Illinois Local Government Lawyers Association).
This competition provides an opportunity to produce a publishable piece of legal research as well as explore local government law as a career.
Deadline: December 20, 2021

National Law Review 2021-2022 Law Student Writing Competition
"straightforward and practical, containing useful information of interest to legal and business professionals" Suggested Topics:

  • President Trump and current administration
  • Tax Issues
  • Immigration enforcement and policy
  • Federal Court issues: process of adding additional justices to the US Supreme Court/Federal Circuit
  • Employment Issues - Ban the Box Laws, Minimum Wage, Transgender Accommodations, Age/Sex Discrimination
