Student Legal Writing Competitions - December 2024

American Journal of Mediation National Dispute Resolution Writing Competition
Deadline: December 15, 2024
Subject matter focus for entries can embrace the full range of the alternative dispute resolution field– consensus-based dispute resolution (e.g., negotiation, mediation), adjudicative processes (e.g., early neutral evaluation, binding or non-binding arbitration and private judging), or mixed processes (e.g., arb-med, med-arb, high low arbitration, baseball arbitration). Papers can also focus on ADR process design, practice techniques, specific case studies, related legislation, and ethical dilemmas and standards for dispute resolution professionals.
 

Illinois Local Government Lawyers Association Sixth Annual Writing Competition
Deadline: December 31
The philosophy of the Illinois Local Government Lawyers Association is to coordinate and promote professional education, information exchange and interaction among local government attorneys in Illinois in order to ensure the highest level of professional representation to units of local government.

In keeping with the philosophy of the Illinois Local Government Lawyers Association, in late 2016, the ILGL Board approved a proposal for a writing competition centering on topics focused on local government law.

 

ACREL Law Student Writing Award
Deadline: December 31, 2024

Papers should address a topical issue of interest in real property law or related areas, including, for example, real estate aspects of financing, bankruptcy or environmental law.

Papers shall have been published, or accepted for publication, in a scholarly journal sponsored by an ABA-accredited law school in the United States and its territories and possessions within calendar year 2024.
