UPDATE! 2021-2022 Changes to Origination Fees
**Please disregard the Origination Fees entry in the October 11th version of The Record and note this week’s change in the academic year.
There will be no change in the Origination Fees for Direct Loans in 2022. The fee will remain at 1.057% for the Federal Unsubsidized Loan, and 4.228 % for the Federal Graduate PLUS Loan for loans disbursed on or after October 1, 2021 and before October 1, 2022.
The Federal Government takes an Origination Fee off the top of each loan you borrow after the loan is disbursed. What is applied to your Chicago-Kent student account is the Net Amount (Gross Amount less Origination Fees).
