Section 3 Information
Description
A study of issues of contract formation, interpretation, breach, defenses, and remedies. Both the common law and the Uniform Commercial Code's approach to contracts are explored. The evolution and modern understandings of contract doctrines such as "consideration," "offer and acceptance" and "conditions" are presented, as are various defenses to the prima facie case of contractual obligation. The class includes analysis of expectation, reliance and restitution as remedies for breach.
