Section 1 Information
Description
This course is designed to prepare you to deal effectively with foreign law, foreign lawyers and foreign clients. It gives you skills to move effectively among legal systems and to practice law across national boundaries. Our primary objective will be to identify and develop skills, knowledge and strategies that will enable you to function effectively in transnational legal contexts. Perhaps the most important skill in this context is the capacity to understand and interpret other legal environments and the people who are trained and work in them, because this skill will allow you to move effectively across the borders of national legal systems. You will learn much about foreign legal systems, and this knowledge will be valuable to you in your professional careers, but our underlying goal will always be to develop skills and strategies for operating in an international legal environment.
