Chicago-Kent to defend championship title in National Veterans Law Moot Court Competition

Two teams from Chicago-Kent College of Law at Illinois Institute of Technology will compete November 14 and 15, 2015, in the National Veterans Law Moot Court Competition in Washington, D.C.

Third-year students Nicholas Brankle and Gregory Conner will compete on one team. The other team will comprise Kayla Higgins and Leo Reardon, both third-year students.

Chicago-Kent will enter the competition as the defending champion. In 2014, the team of Lyal Fox III '15 and Jared Reynolds '15 won the national title, taking home top honors in the law school's second year participating in the competition.

Established in 2009, the National Veterans Law Moot Court Competition is the nation's premier moot court competition focusing on veterans law. The tournament is cosponsored by the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims Bar Association and the George Washington University Law School Moot Court Board.

Chicago-Kent's Ilana Diamond Rovner Program in Appellate Advocacy was established in 1992. Since then, Chicago-Kent students have won numerous individual honors and regional and national competitions, including consecutive titles in the National Moot Court Competition.
