All Sides of the Law: Spring 2025 Edition of Chicago-Kent Magazine Released

The spring 2025 edition of Chicago-Kent Magazine, highlighting alumni who are working in the field of criminal law, is now available.
Here’s a look at who is featured in this issue:
- Eileen O’Neill Burke ’90 gave up her dream job as justice of the First District Appellate Court in Cook County to run for—and win—the Office of Cook County State’s Attorney.
- You’ll find Ali Ammoura ’12 on the other side of the courtroom, working as an assistant Cook County public defender, compassionately guiding his clients through the criminal courts.
- Ginger Leigh Odom ’03 is the director of expungement at Illinois’s Office of the State Appellate Defender. Her work helps thousands of Illinois residents find redemption and build new lives every year.
- Heather Widell ’12 was still in her twenties when she bought her boss’s defense firm. Ten years later, she can still be brought to tears for the want of justice.
Chicago-Kent College of Law alumni are prominent in every corner of Illinois’s criminal courts. With a J.D.
