Chicago-Kent’s Trial Advocacy Program Earns a Grade of A from preLaw Magazine
Chicago-Kent College of Law’s Trial Advocacy Program, known for its nationally ranked trial advocacy teams, has been awarded an A by preLaw Magazine in its rankings of trial advocacy and litigation programs in its spring 2019 issue.
The magazine evaluated trial advocacy programs throughout the United States. Chicago-Kent’s A grade by preLaw Magazine follows its trial advocacy program being ranked fifth in the country in 2019 by U.S. News and World Report.
“For almost 40 years, Chicago-Kent has been a national leader in the teaching of trial advocacy,” says Judge David Erickson, director of the Trial Advocacy Program. “Our innovative curriculum and talented faculty continue to place Chicago-Kent among the elite schools.”
Founded in 1971, Chicago-Kent’s Trial Advocacy Program offers rigorous courtroom-skills training to hundreds of Chicago-Kent students each year. Known for its outstanding record in trial advocacy tournaments, Chicago-Kent is a four-time winner of the National Trial Competition, the premier trial advocacy competition in the U.S.
Chicago-Kent’s program is distinguished by the expertise of its faculty members and coaches, its breadth of courses, its low student-to-faculty ratio, and the work ethic and camaraderie of its students.
The litigation technology curriculum, started in 2001, was one of the first curricula in the country to equip students with the skills to leverage computer technology in the courtroom.
