IIT Chicago-Kent to compete in the Billings, Exum & Frye National Moot Court Competition
The IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law team of Kaitlyn Connelly, John Darragh and Jeffrey Grimyser will compete in the second annual Billings, Exum and Frye National Moot Court Competition March 29 to 31 at the Elon University School of Law in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Established in 2011, the competition pays tribute to the Honorables Rhoda Bryan Billings, James G. Exum, Jr., and Henry E. Frye, each of whom served as chief justice of the Supreme Court of North Carolina. The 31 teams from 21 law schools competing in this year's tournament will focus on a hypothetical constitutional law issue. Competitors will be judged on the quality of their appellate brief and oral arguments.
IIT Chicago-Kent team member Kaitlyn Connelly, a second-year student, earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Michigan. Teammate John Darragh, a second-year evening student, earned an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Teammate Jeffrey Grimyser, also a second-year student, received his bachelor's degree in journalism and English from the University of Wisconsin.
