Three teams will represent Chicago-Kent in the 2015 ABA Regional Negotiation Competition
Chicago-Kent College of Law at Illinois Tech will send three teams to compete in the 2015 ABA Regional Negotiation Competition November 14 and 15 in Chicago.
Twenty-four teams from 11 law schools in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin will participate in the regional competition, hosted by Northwestern University School of Law.
The first-place team will join winning teams from nine other regions to compete in the national finals February 5 and 6 during the ABA Midyear Meeting in San Diego.
Third-year student Jennie Balkas and fourth-year student Kelly O'Neill will compete on one team. Third-year students Jenna Bressel and Brendan Perry will comprise another team, and third-year student Amber Lukowicz and second-year student Billy Whitner will form a third team.
The teams will be coached by alumni Michael Barnes '14, Kevin Doran '15, Martha Drouet '14, Kate Kosartes '14, David McKenzie '14, and Rory Quinn '15.
Sponsored by the ABA Law Student Division, the Negotiation Competition promotes greater interest among law students in legal negotiation and provides a means for them to practice and improve their negotiating skills. A team from Chicago-Kent won the Midwest regional competition in 2013.
