The Information Technology Services department provides Microsoft Office for all staff, students, and faculty. Office 365 can be installed on up to five devices. The software will be unavailable for use once you graduate or no longer attend law school. Office 365 is available for use on PCs, Macs, iPhones, iPads, Android devices, Windows tablets, and Blackberry and Nokia phones. Follow the instructions below to install Office 365 on the more commonly used devices.

Mac Version: Includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Windows Version: Includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Access, Publisher, Outlook, Lync, and InfoPath

  1. Open a browser on the device you would like Office installed on and point it to
  2. Enter your Chicago-Kent email
  3. Click Next
  4. Enter your myIIT password
  5. The web page will list the programs that are available for your device
  6. Click install to download Office on your device
  7. Once downloaded run the setup
  8. Once the setup is complete you will have full access to Office
  9. You can log into this portal at any time to download Office on more devices or deactivate a download

Android Version: Includes Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and OneNote (separate apps)

  1. Tap the Play Store icon on your Android phone
  2. Search for Office
  3. Choose Microsoft Office Mobile
  4. Tap Install
  5. Tap Accept
  6. Once the app has downloaded open the app
  7. Accept the terms
  8. Tap the arrows to advance
  9. Tap Get Started
  10. Enter your Chicago-Kent email address
  11. Enter your myIIT password
  12. You should now have access to Word, PowerPoint and Excel on your Android device
  13. If you would like to use OneNote please go back to the Play Store and download that app and sign in with your Chicago-Kent email address and myIIT password

A: The office software will be available until graduation and for a period until network accounts are deactivated. Accounts will be deactivated according to the network account policy which can be referenced here. After the expiration of the 30-day window, all your documents will be read-only and you will be prompted to buy the office software.
