Several times a year, Chicago-Kent’s Intellectual Property program hosts or participates in major annual events that keep students, alumni, and faculty up to date on current issues related to IP law and allow them to network and converse with other leaders in the field. This list does not include the numerous events coordinated by Chicago-Kent’s IP student organization, the IP Law Society. Some of the major school-sponsored events include:
Chicago Intellectual Property Colloquium
This event, co-sponsored by the Chicago-Kent College of Law and Loyola University Chicago, promotes discussion of a range of issues in intellectual property and cyberspace law. Held each year during the spring academic semester, the event hosts six nationally renowned intellectual property scholars who present and discuss their current research projects. Attendees include intellectual property faculty from Chicago-area law schools, prominent intellectual property practitioners, and selected students from Chicago-Kent and Loyola.
Supreme Court IP Review
The Supreme Court IP Review (SCIPR) is a conference designed to provide intellectual property practitioners, jurists, legal academics, and law students with a review of IP cases from the U.S. Supreme Court's previous term, a preview of cases on the docket for the upcoming Term, and a discussion of petitions to watch.
